About Import Export Code (IEC) – It’s Meaning
Import Export Code (IEC) is required by anyone who is into the business of import and export. IEC is issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and it is a 10 digit number. There is no filing required for IEC and comes with lifetime validity. Without IEC, Importers cannot import goods into India and Exporters will not get the benefit from DGFT, Customs, Export promotion council.
Step 1: An online form ANF-2A (Aayaat Niryaat Form) has to be filed with the respective regional office of DGFT
Step 2: Enter the PAN and fill the requisite details and file the online application
Step 3: Download the Soft copy of the IEC certificate
If everything is in order, it may take anywhere between 2 to 3 business days for registering IEC. This timeline is further subject to Government processing, approval time, public holidays, etc.

Government fees for IEC registration are Rs.500 and for modification in an existing IEC is Rs.200. Our fees are Rs.3000.
